Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born on October 13, 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is a United States singer, songwriter, and actor. Ashanti was a teenager singer-songwriter and actress from the United States has been signed to Murder Inc. Records to release her debut album in 2002.
